ANN BYERS WILLE Ann was committed to community youth and education activities. She was a longtime volunteer for Mesa Soccer Association, and was a founding board member and active supporter of EdUCate! (University City Foundation for Public Schools). She also held many leadership positions in the La Jolla Golden Triangle Rotary Club. Ann traveled extensively, and her various interests included walking, health and fitness, meditation, landscaping, design and the arts. Ann was known by her many friends and clients for her integrity, organization, thoughtfulness, humor and real engagement with others. She lived with intent. Ann was preceded in death by her second husband, Wayne Clites, in 2005. Survivors include son Greg (Glory) Wille; two grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters. A visitation and memorial was held in Austin, Texas, in September. A Celebration of Ann’s life will be held in San Diego on Sunday, November 13, 2011. Ann Byers Wille, 62, of San Diego, died Monday, September 12, 2011, in her native Austin, Texas. She was born on November 8, 1948, to William Bowling "Bo" Byers and Mary Catherine Cowan Byers in Austin. She graduated from Austin's McCallum High School in 1967 and from the University of Texas in 1970. After working as a buyer for Scarbrough's Department Store in Austin, she moved to San Diego in 1981 where she first worked for Robinson’s department store, further sharpening her skills in marketing. She went on to have a successful 20-year career as a residential real estate agent and independent real estate broker before retirement. |
