EdUCate! events throughout the year…
EdUCate! events are major fundraising opportunities that integrate both the community and schools. Below are some of our major events:
On Friday, May 3, 2019, 7-10 pm, EdUCate! held its 25th Silver Anniversary Taste of the Triangle. Restaurants from in and around the Golden Triangle presented “tastes” of their cuisines.
- Amazing Tasty Bites from Local Restaurants
- Silent Auction
- VIP Reception
- 25 Year UC Trivial Pursuit Game
Oktoberfest is a great way to welcome families and teachers back to school in the fall. This annual event promotes community support for our UC schools as well as awareness about the mission of the EdUCate! Foundation.
EdUCate! teamed with Bookstar/Barnes & Noble in the Costa Verde Center, and in partnership with the PTAs and the UC Cluster, hosted a book drive for the five University City Public schools – Curie Elementary, Doyle Elementary, Spreckels Elementary, Standley Middle and University City High Schools.
How can you help? It’s easy! Browse the school book display in the store or ask at the register for a list of requested books from one or more of the schools. Select and buy the books you would like to donate. Maybe you will find an old favorite! Bookstar will keep the books until the end of the drive. EdUCate! and volunteers will sort the books after the holidays and distribute them to the schools.
EdUCate! makes no money from this. Books are bought at the store at regular prices and then distributed to the schools.
On August 26th, 2017, Snooze invited EdUCate! supporters to a free pre-opening breakfast at their new restaurant in the La Jolla Village Square. This was a time for Snoozers to get their feet wet, and get the opportunity to meet the fine EdUCate! community.
